At a glance
Every OSM figure links to the OSM page it came from, with the date we checked it. Where we have no public source, we say what Scoutworks does and leave it there.

What it costs for your group
Put in your own figures — how many sections, which OSM plan and add-ons, and what parents pay through GoCardless in a year.
Working out what you’re paying shouldn’t need a calculator — but here one is

The differences leaders, parents and treasurers notice in the first term.
The group is the unit
Your group is the account and sections sit inside it. A leader who helps at Beavers and Cubs has one login and one profile, an event can be opened to two sections in a click, and subscriptions are set up once for the whole group rather than repeated in each section. Group admins see everything; section leaders see their own sections by default.
One Parent Portal per family
Parents get a single portal for all their children, whichever section each is in: events to sign up to, badge progress, personal and medical details to keep current, and payments by Direct Debit or instant bank payment with no platform fee added on top. Nothing to install — it runs in the browser and can be added to a home screen.
Finance in the same system
Every payment a parent makes posts to the accounting ledger automatically, alongside open banking feeds from your bank, budgets, restricted funds and reconciliation. Direct Debit mandates do not transfer between platforms, so collection is set up fresh in Scoutworks — the migration guide covers how to time that around your OSM renewal.
A district view without spreadsheets
If your district uses the District Portal, your group’s census and waiting-list figures are visible to the district team from live data rather than a round of spreadsheets, so they can see real demand and offer support early. The portal is free for districts.
