When a parent says "I never got the reminder", you used to have to take their word for it — or ask the Scoutworks team to check. Email Logs gives you a complete, group-scoped record of every email Scoutworks has sent: RSVP reminders, payment confirmations, badge notifications, and anything composed from the Email page. Each row tells you who it was sent to, when, and whether it arrived.
Opening Email Logs
Click Settings in the sidebar, then open the Email Logs tab. The page lists the most recent emails first, with a filter bar at the top and a KPI strip showing the last 7 days of activity.
What you can see
What appears in your Email Logs depends on your role:
| Role | What you see |
|---|---|
| Group admin | Every email sent for the group |
| Volunteer (leader) | Emails sent to members in your sections, plus emails you composed yourself |
| Parent | No access — Email Logs is not visible |
Recipient addresses are shown in full to both group admins and volunteers, so you have everything you need to follow up with a parent whose email isn't getting through.
Filtering and searching
The filter bar lets you narrow the list down quickly:
- Date range — defaults to the last 7 days; widen or narrow as needed.
- Status — Delivered, Bounced, Complained, Failed, Pending.
- Source — System (automatic sends like RSVP reminders) or User (emails composed by a leader or admin).
- Recipient search — type a name or partial email address.
Filter chips along the top stay in sync with the filter bar, so you can clear them with one click.
Reading the details of a single email
Click any row to open a side panel with four tabs:
- Overview — subject, sender, when it was sent, and a quick summary of who received it.
- Recipients — every recipient on the email with their individual delivery state. A single send to 30 parents might show 28 delivered, 1 bounced, and 1 opened — all visible here.
- Timeline — the chain of delivery events for the email (sent → delivered → opened, or sent → bounced).
- Body — the full rendered email body, exactly as the recipient saw it.
Spotting delivery issues on a member's profile
Email Logs also feeds an amber Delivery issues pill on the member profile page. If any of a member's email addresses has bounced or had a complaint in the last 30 days, the pill appears at the top of their profile. Clicking it deep-links straight into Email Logs filtered to that member, so you can see which emails are failing and follow up with the parent to get an updated address.
A few things to know
- Scheduled bulk emails like weekly digests aren't included in Email Logs yet — they'll appear in a future update. For now, individual sends and system emails are fully covered.
- Volunteers see other volunteers' sends when those sends were addressed to members in shared sections. This is intentional — it makes it easy to see what's already been said to a section so you don't double-message parents.
- Out-of-section emails sent by a colleague aren't visible to you as a volunteer, even if you know they happened. Ask a group admin if you need the detail.
