Accessing the Knowledge Base as a parent
Log in to your parent account and click Knowledge Base in the sidebar. This opens your read-only view of shared documents.
What you can see
The parent Knowledge Base is filtered by your children's sections:
- If your child is in Beavers, you see documents shared with the Beavers section.
- If you have children in both Beavers and Cubs, you see documents shared with either section.
- Documents shared with all sections are visible to every parent.
You will not see documents that leaders have kept internal — unshared files are only visible to leaders.
Pinned documents
Look for pinned files first — leaders pin the most important documents (term programme, group policies, camp kit lists) so they appear prominently at the top.
Event files
Files attached to events — such as risk assessments, activity plans, or permission forms — may also appear in the Knowledge Base if leaders have chosen to share them.
Downloading files
Click the download action on any file to save it to your device. This is useful for:
- Printing camp kit lists or permission forms.
- Saving the term programme to your phone for quick reference.
- Keeping offline copies for events with patchy signal.
Frequently asked questions
Why can I not see a document another parent mentioned? The most likely reason is that the document is shared with a different section. Ask one of your leaders if you think you should have access.
Can I upload documents? No. The parent Knowledge Base is read-only. Send any documents you need to share directly to your section leader.
How quickly do new documents appear? Immediately. As soon as a leader shares a file, it is visible in your Knowledge Base.
