Changing your email
Your email is how you sign in to Scoutworks, so changing it needs an extra confirmation step to make sure no one else can take over your account.
- In Personal Information, click Change email next to your current address.
- Type your new email, type it again to confirm, and enter your current password.
- Click Send verification email.
We then send a confirmation link to the new address. Click that link within 2 hours to finish the change. Until you do, your current email stays active and you keep signing in with it.
We also send a heads-up email to your old address letting you know an email change was requested. If you didn't ask for the change, reset your password straight away — someone else might be trying to take over the account.
Once you click the confirmation link, both your old and new addresses get an email confirming the change is done. The next time you sign in, use the new address.
A few extra things to know:
- Same address as another account — if the new email already belongs to someone else's Scoutworks account, we tell you the address is unavailable so you can try a different one.
- Daily limit — you can request up to 3 email changes in a 24-hour window. This stops abuse if a token leaks.
- Lost access to both old email and password — the link to your old inbox is the safety net. If you can't reach either, contact your group leader — they can reset your account, and you can start fresh from the new email.
Emergency Contact
Your own emergency contact details — not to be confused with member emergency contacts. Fields: First name, Last name, Relationship, Phone, Email.
Medical Information
Your dietary requirements and medical information. This is useful for leaders attending camps and residential events.
Password & Security
Shows your current password status and when it was last changed. Click Change Password (or Set Password if you signed up via magic link or Google and have not set one) to update your password.
Group Permissions
This section (visible to leaders and admins only) shows:
- Your current group.
- Subscription status badge (active, trial, expired).
- Your roles in the group.
- Which sections you have access to.
