Families keep asking for places, and some groups have long waiting lists while others have room. As a district admin you want to see where the demand is, so you can plan a new section or point families to a group with space. The Waiting lists page shows who is waiting across your district, and gives you one link to share with new families.
Only district admins see Waiting lists in the sidebar.
Opening the page
Switch into your district and click Waiting lists in the sidebar. The page shows who is waiting to join groups across your district. The figures come from the groups that share them with you. They are counts only, never names.
What the figures tell you
| Figure | What it means |
|---|---|
| Total waiting | Every waiting list entry. A child on two lists counts twice. |
| Unique children | Each child counted once, however many groups they applied to. |
| Avg wait time | How long the families waiting now have waited, on average. |
| Offer rate | The share of offers that families accept. |
| Triage backlog | Entries still waiting for a group to process them. |
| Volunteer pool | Parents on a waiting list who said they could help. |
Below the figures:
- Waiting List by Section shows demand for Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Network.
- Demand by Group shows which groups have the longest lists.
- Demand Locations is a map of where families waiting live.
Exporting the figures
Click Export in the page header to download the waiting list figures as a CSV file. The button appears once your figures are ready.
Sharing your waiting list link
- Click Share in the page header.
- In Share your waiting list, copy the Waiting list link, or open it to see what families see.
- To print a poster, use the QR code. Click Download PNG to save it.
The link opens one form for every group and Explorer unit in your district. Families choose the groups they want to join, and each application goes to that group.
Your link stays the same, so posters and links you shared before keep working. When a group joins your district, or you create a unit, it appears on the form without a new link. See Sharing Your District Waiting List Link for more about the link and posters.
If the sheet says "No connected groups or units yet", invite groups or create an Explorer unit first.
