Before a district team meeting, you want to know which groups need support, which invitations went unanswered, and how membership is changing. The district dashboard puts this on one page, so you can start with the groups that need you most.
Opening the dashboard
Switch into your district with the switcher at the top of the sidebar. The dashboard opens first. You can come back to it at any time with Dashboard in the sidebar.
The page title is your district's name. Under it, a line such as "Last updated 09:45 today" tells you how fresh the group figures are. Member and waiting list figures update overnight. Incident, risk review and charity checks are live.
Needs you
Needs you lists the things only the district can act on, most urgent first. Only district admins see it.
| Item | What it means |
|---|---|
| "[Unit] has no admin" | One of your district units has nobody to run it. |
| "[Group]: charity shows …" | The Charity Commission register shows a serious change, such as removal from the register or insolvency. |
| "Invitation to [group] expired" | A group did not answer your invitation in time. Click Resend to send a new one. |
| "[Group]: 2 incidents not with HQ" | A group has incidents that it has not yet reported to HQ, and the oldest is at least a week old. |
| "[Group] stopped sharing" | A group stopped sharing in the last 30 days. Its figures are gone from your totals. |
The card shows the five most urgent items, or three on a phone. When there are more, click See all to open the full list. When the card says "Nothing needs you this week", no group, invitation or claim is waiting on you.
Click an item about a group to open that group's details.
Across your district
The tiles under Across your district add up the groups that share their figures with you:
- Members: young people across your groups.
- Waiting list: young people waiting to join, with the average wait.
- Young Leaders: Explorers working towards the Young Leader award.
- Sharing: how many of your groups and units share their figures, for example "8 of 10".
The line under the heading tells you which groups the totals cover, for example "Totals from the 8 of 10 groups that share their figures". On a phone you see the first two tiles.
Your groups
Your groups is a table with one row for each group and unit in your district. The rows with the most urgent problem come first.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Group | The group's name. A unit the district runs carries a District unit badge. |
| Attention | The one thing about the group that most needs the district, if anything. |
| Members | Young people in the group today. |
| 12 months | How many more, or fewer, members the group has than a year ago. |
| Waiting | Young people on the group's waiting list. |
| Sections | The group's active sections. |
| Leaders | Adults with a leader or admin role in the group. |
| Not with HQ | Incidents not yet reported to HQ. |
| Reviews overdue | Risk assessments past their review date. |
| Charity register | What the Charity Commission register shows for the group. |
| Sharing since | When the group started to share its figures. This column is hidden until you turn it on. |
To find a group quickly:
- Type part of its name in Search groups....
- Use the filter to show All groups, Needs attention or Not sharing.
- Click a column heading to sort by it. Click it again to reverse the order.
- Use the column picker to show or hide columns.
The page remembers your search, filter and sort in its web address, so you can bookmark a view or send it to someone on your team.
A group that does not share its figures shows only its name and where it stands, for example "Does not share its figures" or "Invited 3 days ago". You never see figures for a group that has not agreed to share. If an invitation has expired, admins see Resend invitation in that row.
Looking at one group
Click a group's name to open its details. The sheet shows:
- a banner with the most important thing, or "Nothing here needs the district";
- Members, Waiting list, Sections and Leaders;
- Checks: incidents, risk reviews, the charity register and, for a unit, whether it has an admin.
The sheet shows counts only. It never shows the names of young people or adults.
What each role sees
| Role | What the dashboard shows |
|---|---|
| Admin | Everything, including Needs you, Resend and Send broadcast |
| Volunteer | The tiles, Your groups, the group details and Send broadcast |
| Viewer | The tiles, Your groups and the group details |
A new district
Until a group is connected, the dashboard shows Invite your first group with an Invite a group button, and a short Set up your district checklist. When a group accepts, its member and waiting list figures appear here. A group always chooses what it shares.
If your figures are not ready yet, you see "Preparing your district's figures". The page updates itself when they arrive.
